I am a big fan of wandering new cities. I think it’s the best way to both see the sites and experience what it’s really like to be a local.

To give some structure to my flanuering, I generally use Foursquare to mark a few spots I’d like to see and wander by foot in between them.

This method works pretty well, but I’ve always thought there should be something better.

Detour’s location-aware audio walks is a cool solution. The storytelling sounds on par with a highly produced podcast but the set route sounds restrictive.

It’ll be exciting when they start crowdsourcing the content so you can wander on your own route in many different cities.
